The personal side of things...
Now that we have the legal side covered (You read it didn't you?) - let's turn to something equally important!
Proceedings of a shooting and the interaction between model and photographer - sounds pretty scientific doesn't it? But please stick with us.
We want to create beautiful pictures or videos together - we could even go as far as to say we want to create art.
Before we can create art a lot of very mundane tasks have to be completed. Appointments have to be made. Traveling has to be organized. Equipment has to be rented - and a lot more things will probably come up and consume our (the model's and the photographer's) valuable time.
Let us always be fair and honest with each other. Let us build mutual trust and confidence first - without that we will not be able to create beauty.
Shooting ideas
Let's discuss and develop ideas together
No matter how brilliant we deem (usually our) idea - may be our collaboration partner will not be entirely comfortable about it. Or even can bring something better to the table...
Get-together
If possible it is usually a good idea to meet in person before actually shooting
If the chemistry is not right when having a cup of coffee or tea together - then it is probably better not to shoot
Act responsibly
A lot of effort and time or even money is put into (preparing) a shooting - from either side
Let's not waste each others resources by busting appointments, ghosting or acting unprofessional in any other way
On set safety
Safety has various aspects, some technical some not
Let's start by choosing a location that is safe to shoot in the first place. E.g. we will not shot in restricted areas
Do not bring dangerous items, substances, animals etc. on set
Always allow enough time to work safely. (Slow is smooth and smooth is fast!)
Do not work under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Bring a person of trust - especially for more intimate shootings. We ensure you of a professional and respectful on set attitude from our side but don't hesitate to bring someone to accompany you! (Ideally someone who can help with styling etc. - but not somebody who will distract you or put stress on you.) BTW if a photographer tells you, you have to come alone simply do not consider to go on working with him or her...
For privacy & health during boudoir, lingerie or nude sessions bring warm and comfortable clothes/bath robe/blankets to cover yourself during shooting breaks
Know when to call it a day! Shooting is physically and often emotionally exhausting for models and photographers alike. When you feel uncomfortable or exhausted it is better to stop - probably the results will not warrant going on anyway
Have fun!
Having a break and a laugh often helps the progress of the shooting - more than trying to force results
We love to do what we do - prepare yourself to have fun on set. It is the best way to spend the working day and receive great results!
